Restaurant/places to eat in Gran Hotel Vicente Costanera

We only stayed for a single night, after our filght arrived from Brazil and we were actually heading to Puerto Varas. The hotel is old (from 1958!) but very well maintained, with all areas looking as new, and with a very nice lobby. Very good breakfast and excellently well located, adjacent to the Plaza de Arms and the restaurant Fuente de Alí, very close to the big shopping mall Paseo Costanera and in front of the costanera of the city along the Pacific Ocean. When we arrived we were given complimentary drinks, which was a nice surprise. It’s also worth mentioning that the staff were very kind with my daughter and her husband, who arrived very early in the hotel in the other day, just to meet us, and were given access to the hotel premises.

Lobby or reception in Gran Hotel Vicente Costanera

This hotel was nicer than in the pictures. I couldn’t understand why didn’t have more stars. The stuff was excellent, very friendly, polite, accommodating, always ready to help. Parking was free, we also got a welcome drink so we went to the bar. Beds were so comfortable, when we got to the room the had the a space heater so the room was warm an cozy. We had two rooms a triple and double both were a big size and bedroom was huge. The double room had a beautiful view of the water and again room was huge even with a small walking closet. The breakfast was amazing, buffet style with a variety of juices, breads, sweets, fresh fruits, yogurt, eggs, sausage, coffee, tea, etc. We learned from the stuff that this hotel was entered on the national registry of protected buildings like national heritage so they can’t just go remodel the outside the balconies are carved native wood. The hotel is beautiful as it is I will definitely stay here again.

Situated right on the Costanera near the pier. Very helpful staff, Their English was, as usual, much better than my Spanish.. Although I looked round the restaurants and bars one or two blocks in, the hotel bar/brasserie was very comfortable, with an ocean view. Large comfortable room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast, hot and cold, to suit all tastes. Good access, all the lifts worked.

This is a hotel with old world charm, just a bit past it's prime. It reminds me a bit of Fawlty Towers. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. My wife was sick for part of our stay, when I needed to be away, and they took great care of her. The view of the harbour from our room was lovely. The location could not be more convenient. And the breakfast was excellent, as were dinners in the dining room.

Facade/entrance in Gran Hotel Vicente Costanera

Beautiful property walking distance to bus stop, restaurants, coffee shops and view of the bay. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way help us with the issue n our original reservation when I had to change the date due to transportation issue. Also they made sure that we get our breakfast on our early check out 😊😊 I wish we have more time to explore the nearby attractions.
